The first market was in 8th Cross, next to the temple. You can still see it– there are steps, but it's all locked up now. People would sit there and it would spread onto 8th Cross too. Later they built the current market, which is already broken and no one sits there anymore. When the old market was going to be demolished, we all protested. All the Malleswaram people felt there was no need to demolish it– it was very nice with so much space. But we couldn't break through. Nobody was consulted. They decided overnight that this was going to be changed.
