About the event


Join us on a walk through Malleswaram, where we will explore the neighbourhood’s world of trees! We’ll talk about how to identify trees, but also dive into their more mysterious aspects: Why are specific species chosen for planting? How do we as citizens interact with the trees in our city? What are some iconic trees of the iconic neighbourhood of Malleswaram?


About Jahnvi Pai our walk coordinator:

Jahnavi Pai is an ecologist by training and co-author of a field guide for the Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, developed during her time at ATREE. Her work with rural communities and involvement in urban activism sparked an enduring interest in understanding how humans and nature continually shape each other. She later pursued a second master’s degree in Political Ecology in Barcelona and now focuses on climate change while also being deeply involved in handloom revival.
